- Thematic learning is learning activity that combines knowledge, skills, values, and attitude in several subjects that are linked and merged into 1 (one) learning activity using theme. In thematic learning in school, the use of instructional media is still limited, because school only uses learning media on certain materials only, and more emphasis on available media around students or school environment. In this research, the researcher uses (R & D) approach and development. In the research, the research procedures used are Observation, Interview, Test, Documentation, Questionnaire in order to see the development of Reading Book Audio media, and the prevalence of media when it is applied to the learners, and to see the effectiveness of media with learners’ outcomes after using Reading Book Audio learning media. The research finding shows reading book audio media validity seen from first material validation questionnaire is about 70% and second validation is about 92.5%. Furthermore, from the material validation questionnaire, it is obtained score 80% on first validation and 95% on second validation. It shows that Reading Book Audio learning media is valid to be applied in school. On the other hand, the effectiveness of media is seen from evaluation results of students in IIA class amounted to 26 students with evaluation average is about 89.2, and IIC class with 26 students, it is obtained evaluation average about 84.8. It shows that an effective media is used in learning activity.
