  • Mathematical reasoning process of each student is different when dealing with math problems. Personality is one of the influential factors. Therefore, this current study was aimed to describe the student’s mathematical reasoning process based on the personality of Hippocrates-gelenus typology with type of choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic and melancholic in the math problem. This current research was descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 4 students who each personality consisted of one choleric student, one sanguinis student, one melancholy student, and the research was conducted at VIII-A class of SMP Plus Darusalam Lawang Malang. The researcher used questionnaires, written tests, and oral tests as the data collection techniques in this current study. The collected data were processed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the process of mathematical reasoning, the process of mathematical reasoning of choleric and sanguinis students less meet since only two indicators of mathematical manipulation and drawing conclusion were achieved. Phlegmatic student’s Mathematical reasoning process were able to process information effectively in solving the problem but less in determining mathematical statements precisely and coherently. Furthermore, the melancholic student’s mathematical reasoning process was considered as good since all of four indicators were achieved
