Daftar Isi:
- This study aims to describe (1) the application of Snowball Throwing model with a contextual approach, (2) the students’ mathematics critical thinking skill through the implementation of Snowball Throwing model with a contextual approach, (3) the students’ mathematics problem-solving skill through the implementation of Snowball Throwing model with a contextual approach. The data collection technique of this research was by using observation method to know the result of teacher’s and students’ activities and by using a test of learning outcome to describe the result of the students’ mathematics critical thinking and mathematics problem- solving skills. The results of this research are (1) the application of Snowball Throwing model with a contextual approach has been suitable for the learning steps in teacher’s activity and it was categorized as very good with a total mean score of 3.56. The student’s activity has been matched as well with the syntax and it was categorized as very good with an average score of 3.51. (2)The students’ critical thinking skill using Snowball Throwing with a contextual approach was categorized as good with a mean score of 76.99. However, for this mathematics critical thinking skill, the students underwent the weakness mostly due to the reason, the clarity, and the rechecking with a good enough category. (3) The students’ mathematics problem-solving skill using Snowball Throwing model with a contextual approach was categorized as high with a total mean score of 75.68. Nevertheless, the students’ mathematics problem-solving is lack of the aspect of planning the finishing and rechecking with high enough criteria obtained by the students.
