- In the international relation field, Indonesia is a sovereign country that carries out relations with various countries in the world. One of the ability of making a connection to the other country is to establish diplomatic relationship to those countries. This diplomatic relationship is in the form of sending the ambassador to each country. The ambassador is a representative of each country to the other countries. In Indonesia, Di Indonesia, the understanding of ambassador is a state official appointed and dismissed by the president as the head of the state. Under Article 13 paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution, the President is authorized to appoint ambassadors and consuls. Whereas pursuant to Article 13 paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution stated that in the case of appointment of ambassadors, the President cognize the consideration of the House of Representatives. This is what makes the relationship between the president and the People’s Representative Council related to the nomination of the ambassador began to be questioned by the people, when the decision of the People’s Representative Council who questioned the nomination of the ambassador proposed by government. Research Question: 1. How Does the Role of the People’s Representative Council Republic of Indonesia in the Appointment of the Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia according to the 1945 Constitution Before and After the Amendment? 2. How is the Implication of the People’s Representative Council in the Appointment of the Ambassador of Republic of Indonesia Pursuant to the 1945 Constitution of the State of the Republic of Indonesia? This research is using a normative juridical approach. The reason for the involvement of the People’s Representative Council in the appointment of the ambassador and consuls in order to maintain objectivity to the ability of a person in it and to prevent abuse of power by President for the sake of certain parties
