- Based on observation and interview result, at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang, character education has been implemented before PPK. The success of implementing character education is from teachers’ role. Teachers’ role is important in internalization of religious character education value, especially from religious school culture. This research aims to: (1) describe the internalization of religious character education value through religious school culture at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang (2) describe teachers’ role in internalization of religious character education value through religious school culture at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang (3) describe the implementation effort of internalization of religious character education value through religious school culture at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang. This research was conducted by means of descriptive qualitative. The data sources were Head Master, executive coordinator, teachers, and students. In collecting data, the writer used observation, interview, and documentation methods. This research was conducted on April 09th to Mei 31st, 2018. Research result showed that (1) the internalization of religious character education value through religious school culture at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang included a) Habituating 5S, 1M, 2T. b) Praying before and after teaching learning activity. c) Reading Asmaul Husna. d) Friday Kultum. e) Doing Solat together. f) Istighosah and praying together g) community service h) class picket i) friday infaq j) pondok ramadhan k) shaking hands l) solat Idhul Adha together m) BTQ and Al-Banjari extracurricular. 2) Teachers’ role in internalization of religious character education value through religious school culture at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang included a) giving good example to students in both oral and attitude aspects. b) Inspiring students to build learning motivation, helping students to learn something and supporting them to get good achievement at school. c) Motivating the students using good speech in order that the students are able to catch given motivation. d) The dynamist teachers’ role should attempt to make good change, to develop students’ character education especially religious character. e) The evaluator does self-reflection as well as with the students. 3) The implementation effort in internalization of religious character education value through religious school culture at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang a) persuasive approach. b) Example giving approach. c) Habituation approach. d) Rationalization approach in form of good reason and prospect.
