- In reality, the students of Tunagrahita in SDN Mojorejo 01 Kota Batu are still lacking in learning, motivation, and it is difficult to apply the concept to real objects so that it is necessary to develop thematic teaching media for tunagrahita students.The purpose of this research is to know: (1) to develop instructional media of Diorama on Thematic learning for light tunagrahita students at SDN Mojorejo 01 Kota Batu, and (2) to develop effective instructional media of Diorama in Thematic learning for light Tunagrahita students at SDN Mojorejo 01 Kota Batu . This study uses quantitative and qualitative methods with the type of research conducted in the development of contextual media. As a source of data, selected students tunagrahita SDN Mojorejo 01 Kota Batu academic year 2017/2018 with the number of 9 students. The study was conducted in March 2018. The result of the research shows (1) development of instructional media diorama on thematic subjects for light tunagrahita students at SDN Mojorejo 01 Kota Batu declared valid by ahi media and material expert with percentage of material expert equal to 93,47% and percentage of media expert equal to 94%. (2) development of instructional media Effective Diorama on Thematic lesson for lightweight Tunagrahita students at SDN Mojorejo 01 Kota Batu was declared effective with student response questionnaire and Teacher Companion Class response with percentage of small group test students 94,44%, large group test 95 , 23% and supported by teacher response questionnaire with 87.5% percentage.
