- High-level cognition involves perception in interpreting information received by the sensory nerves. The difference between sensation and interpretation (perception) to the experiences we sense means the difference between the information received by the sensory system and the information interpreted by the brain. Sometimes perceptions and reality are not the same, as happens in cases of illusion of perception, especially visual illusions. Variables to be studied in this research are stress level and illusionary variables. This study aims to determine the relationship of stress levels with illusion. The research design used in this research is quantitative correlation with sampling technique using incidental sampling counted 60 subject and analyzed using product moment correlation. Instruments in this study using Cognitive Psychology Wadsworth Online Laboratory Muller Lyer Percussion Perception section and stress level gauge is Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42). The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between the relationship of stress level to the illusion. This is evidenced by the correlation coefficient (r = 0.650, p = 0,000). These results indicate that the higher the stress level of students who are taking the thesis will be the higher the illusion that occurs and vice versa.
