- Learning achievement is one benchmark of students' ability in mastering the subject matter received when learning in school. One of the factors that influence learningt achievement is the psychological aspects among other are self-concept and assertiveness. Self-concept and assertiveness are considered to have an influence on student learning achievement. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of self-concept and assertiveness with learning achievement in grade VIII "X" Malang. The subjects of the research were students of class VIII. The sample collection technique used purposive sampling technique which amounted to 100 students. This research uses 2 measuring instruments namely self-concept scale and assertiveness scale and 1 documentation in the form of student report cards. Data analysis of this research is multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between self-concept and assertiveness with learning achievement in class VIII students (r=0.789 and sig/p=0.000<0.05). This research also shows that there is a significant relationship between self-concept and learning achievement with sig/p=0.000<0.05 and (β)= 0.353, while assertiveness and learning achievement also have a relationship with sig/p=0,000< 0.05 and (β)=0.514.
