- Currently, communication can be through anything including through Instagram social media. Communication through Instagram social media also performed by students who undergo a dating relationship. The excessive use of Instagram can lead to narcissism personality when it seeks to gain the attention of others, and wants praise about the beauty of the photographs they have.. The narcissism personality having of one partner may result in an interpersonal conflict which, if left unchecked, will result at the end of a relationship. This study has to determine the effect of narcissism personality to the interpersonal conflict of students using Instagram application that undergo dating relationship. This study used a correlational study. Sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. The subjects of this study are students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang who use the application of Instagram who undergo a dating relationship which amounted to 350 people. The scale used in this study is the scale of narcissism personality and the scale of interpersonal conflict The result of simple regression analysis shows the value of R^2= 0,196, P = 0,000 (p <0.05) which means that narcissism personality has an effect on significant to interpersonal conflict of the student of Instagram application applying dating relationship. Narcissism personality contributes 19.6% to interpersonal conflict.
