  • Game is one of way that can be used to increase and improve students’ ability in learning English especially in speaking. In this case using games in delivering the lesson can be a good solution. There is no doubt that through games, students are provided with a chance to study English freely in a relaxed atmosphere and fun. When the students are free from worry and stress, they can improve their fluency. In relation to that reason, the writer investigated this topic. The problem that was investigated in this study is the kinds of games used by the teacher in teaching speaking and the students’ responses toward the using games in teaching speaking. To collect the data, the writer did some observation and questionnaire. After collecting the data, the writer analyzed the data and classified the data based on the problem. The complete data was analyzed based on the researcher problem. The finding were (1). The games used by the teacher namely, What would happen if...?, People, and Miming people and objects; (2). The students gave positive response toward the use of games in teaching speaking.
