  • This study aimed to describe: (1) Comprehension of the teacher about the teacher’s teaching skills at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang, (2) The implementation of teacher’s teaching skills at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang, (3) Student’s motivation to study at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang, and (4) The obstacles faced by teachers in teaching skills at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang. This study used a qualitative approach, descriptive study. As a data sources, there were selected third and fourth grader’s certified teachers and third and fourth grader’s student at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 24 students for class III and 21 students for class IV. This research was conducted on 2 s.d April 18, 2018 with two stages, data collection and data analysis in qualitative. The result of the research shows: (1) The comprehension of the teacher about teacher’s teaching skills at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang can be said maximal, this is indicated from the teacher's answer through interview and questionnaire related to teacher skill component, (2) Implementation of teaching skill at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang as a whole can not be said to be implemented maximally, because there were some components in teaching skill that have not been done with maximal such as skill of doing variation, small group and individual teaching skill, and strengthening skill, (3) Student motivation in SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang as a whole can almost be said to the maximum. This is because there was one component that is not owned by most of the third grade students that is student learning interest, and (4) The obstacles faced by teacher in doing teaching skill at SDN Jatimulyo 1 Malang can be seen from not implemented some points in teaching skill component such as skill variations, small group and individual teaching skills, and strengthening skills. The results of this study, it is suggested for teachers to create media independently or the school could facilitate teachers in providing interesting media for learning (outside of the learning media used on daily basis). Teachers are also expected to better understand the components that exist in teachers' teaching skills. School can conducted to joint evaluation as a form of sharing in improving the quality of teachers' teaching skills. This research can be used by the next researcher as a reference material to continue research related to teacher's teaching skill in developing student's learning motivation.
