  • The success of learning is influenced by several factors, including learning media. Based on the previous observation done by researches, the findings were; (1) the learning process conducted by teachers does not meet the need to encourage students to be active in the class; (2) there were several materials which difficult to understand; (3) the learning media was limited; (4) the students tend to like to learn by using a game. The purposes of this research were: (1) develop of media “The Game of Life” Environment Pollution Material in Class VII of Junior High School. (2) to analyse the effectiveness of the media. This research and development (R&D) was adopted model of Borg and Gall. The steps of R&D were: (1) potential and problems; (2) data collection; (3) design a product; (4) validation design; (5) design revision; (6) test a product; (7) product revision. The assessment media used instrument validation to filled by material and content experts, science teacher, and students at class VII which then were analysed by using descriptive qualitative analyses. The effectiveness of the media was analysed by using paired t test. The results showed that the percentage of media validation was as high as 94.07% which was categorized as “very good”. This means that no revision needed and validated to be the final product. Moreover, the paired t test revealed that the media was effective to use as the significance obtained was less than 0.05 (0.000).
