  • Dengeue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease that is still a public health problem and endemic in parts of Indonesia. Dengue fever is caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted through the Aedes aegypti mosquito as its main vector. Prevention of dengue fever has been carried out by controlling adult larvae or mosquitoes using synthetic insecticides. Synthetic insecticides besides having a positive impact on the control of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, there are still significant negative impacts on the environment such as environmental pollution and insect resistance. The use of larvicides or plant-based insecticides can reduce the negative impact on environmental pollution and insect resistance. Kluwek leaves (Pangium edule Reinw) is one of many plants that can be used as plant larvicides. The content in the leaves of kluwek (Pangium edule Reinw) such as flavonoids, saponins and cyanide compounds has the potential to have toxic effects on insects. The type of research used is True Experiment Research. The design used is The Postest Only Control Group Design. The population is Aedes aegypti which is bred in the Lab. Entomology-Institute for Tropical Diseases-Airlangga University. The concentration of kluwek leaf extract (Pangium edule Reinw) used in this study is 0%, 0.1%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% with 4 times the amount. This study was observed for 3 x 24 hours to determine the effect of each leaf extract concentration on mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. Number of samples of 20 tails on instar 3. The next, for data analysis, one-way Anova test and Duncan test were used with Sig. 5%. The results of the study showed that kluwek leaf extract (Pangium edule Reinw) affected mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae. The highest treatment of kluwek leaf extract in the killing power of Aedes aegypti larvae was at a concentration of 2%.
