- Water is one of the essential daily needs of living beings that canÂ’t be separated. The entry of pollutants of palm oil mill waste and the use of fish poison into a waters can change the various physical, chemical, and biology conditions of the environment. Phytoplankton is a biological parameter that can be used as an indicator to evaluate the quality and fertility level of a waters. Seruyan River is the main river in Seruyan Regency. The purpose of the research is to know the type of phytoplankton, physical-chemical condition of the waters and saprobic index located in the Seruyan River of Seruyan Regency. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research. The study was conducted on 28 November-15 December 2017. Data were collected by observation or direct observation. The results showed that at 4 point stations obtained 37 genus covered in 6 divisio. The divisions are Chlorophyta 18 genus, Bacillariophyta 11 genus, Cyanophyta 4 genus, Dynophyta 2 genus, Euglonophyta 1 genus, and Rhodophyta 1 genus. Physical-chemical parameters in 4 stations: (1) Temperature range from 27-290C (2) Brightness ranges from 0.70 to 1.05 m (3) Current strength ranges from 0.11-0.25 m / s (4) DO ranges from 1.25- 167 mg / L (5) BOD ranges from 2.53-5.07 mg / L (6) pH ranges from 5-6. Parameters using saprobic index obtained results on station I 1.83 with the Oligo / β-mesosaprobic saprobity phase and very light levels of pollution. while station II 2,67, station III 2,83 and station IV 2,93 with Oligosaprobik saprobitas phase and level of pollution consider very light. Based on the pollutant classification of saprobic index parameters the average of pollutants in all stations are inorganic and organic materials within the threshold.
