  • Reading and writing skills are the stages for child self-reliance, Based on media interviews used by teachers at SDN Mojorejo 1 Kota Batu in literacy skills in mild mental retardation children still use the book only. So, children with mild mental retardation is less active role in learning, still less understood with the material taught by teachers, lack of motivation in learning, and less able to read and write. Based on the theory of the problems faced by children with mild mental retardation in the learning activities, at least need activities about remembering and understanding, because they have difficulty in abstract thinking.This study aims to determine: (1) To describe how to develop plot game media based on syntaxis method to mild mental retardation children, (2) To describe the skill level of the plot-based image plays based on the syntaxis method in mild mental retardation children. The model used in this research is the ADDIE model, the ADDIE model is arranged in a systematic. The development of the ADDIE model has five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the study show (1) the development of game plot-based image plays sintaxys method is the media storyline of everyday life in family members. The text of the existing story will be adjusted to the image that has been provided, and then children with mild mental retardation will complete the text of the story along with the picture that has not been completed in accordance with the order of the story. (2) the prevalence and validity of the media can be seen through questionnaires of experts, through interviews and observations. The valid media can be seen from the percentage of media experts get 90% presentation, from material experts up 96% percentage, and from ABK learning experts get a percentage of 92%. From the percentage of media experts, material experts, and learning experts ABK validian media can be tested directly. While the media perspective can be seen through interviews and observations, based on interviews and media observations can be applied to children with mild grade of lightweight, adjusted to the characteristics, problems, and reading skills of children.
