  • SDN Satu Atap 1 Dongko in Trenggalek district only use teacher's book and student's book in their learning process since they do not have any additional literature as a learning resource for students yet. This study aims to determine the development of the complementary book of theme 5 subtheme 1 for grade 5 of elementary school. This research employed a quantitative and qualitative research design and development research as the research type. The data were taken from the teacher and 22 students of Grade 5 at SDN Satu Atap 1 Dongko The study was conducted during the even semester of the 2017/2018 school year. This research used Hannafin & Peck model which consists of three stages of research, namely; need assessment stage, design stage, as well as development and implementation stage where revision and evaluation process are given at every stage. The result of the study obtained through the quantitative indicates that the complementary book has a prevalence rate of 87.5% on the material aspect and 95.5% on the design aspect. Meanwhile, the learning expert gives 87.5% points and most of the students give a positive response to research conducted by researcher with four average and the mean is positive response.
