- Society is often has wrong perception about adolescent with physical defect to participate in social environment activities so that it caused adolescent with physical defect hard to make a contact with other person. In the interpersonal relation, adolescent with physical defect would build negative concept about themselves, whether directed into positive or negative self-concept since self-concept formed through learning process in interpersonal relation. If physical different or biased from normal, it would influence someone’s self-description. The research purpose is findning correlation between self-concept with interpersonal relation in adolescent with physical defect. The research used quantitative research method. Variable used were: independent variable (X): self-concept. Dependent variable (Y): ability of interpersonal relation, using interval data, while scala used was self concept and interpersonal relation ability. Data collection technique was non random sampling. Data analysis used was regression analysis where the technique used to consider the correlation coefficient between X and Y variables and how huge the influence of X variable to Y variable. According to data analysis, there could be concluded that there was significant relation between self-concept and interpersonal relation ability to adolescent with physical defect, means that better self concept, there would be better interpersonal relation ability. Effective contribution to the research from determinant coefficient (r2) was 0,597 means that self-concept has effective contribution to interpersonal relation ability for 59,7%.
