- In this study, researcher specifically taken the title: Sociological Juridical Analysis of Tackling the Togel Gambling Felony by Police Institution (Case Study of Bantur District Police Quarter) by emphasizing two research questions, i.e.: 1. What actions have been taken by Bantur Police Quarter in tackling the gambling felony of togel? 2. What obstacles have been faced by Bantur Police Quarter in tackling the Gambling Felony of Togel? Research outcome and analysis resulted in efforts done by Bantur Police Quarter in tackling the Gambling Felony of Togel that can be classified into preventive efforts realized by setting banners, announcement boards, and counseling with respect to general Gambling Felony of Togel. However, real life does not agree with its practice; the actions are more repressive than preventive as the police forces are taking the gamblers into action based on Pasal 303 ayat (1) KUHP. As for the obstacles, they are internally occurred since the forces members are lack in standard, and there are still deviations happen in their performance of duty. In addition, the external factors are lacking in cooperation between the forces and civilians in fighting against gambling practices, like togel, and from the suspects which are clever enough in intentionally hiding the evidence. In conclusion, efforts done by Bantur Police Quarter are quite maximal; however, there are still deviations done internally by the officers in duty. Therefore, it is suggested for the police forces to perform their duty as law enforcers rightfully according to laws and police force’s ethical codes. Keywords: Togel Gambling, Tackling, Police Forces
