  • This study was intended to explain the implementation of running dictation media to teach listening in the eight grade students of SMP N 1 Prigen. It was conducted based on the fact that the teaching and learning process in the classroom was in passive condition. Teaching English using running dictationmediawaschoosen by the English teacher to facilitate and help studentsÂ’ to achieve the aim of teaching learning process. It is one of the important aspects for the teacher to solve some problems that students face, especially in listening process. By applying running dictation media in teaching learning process, it is hoped that student will be interested and easy to get meaning in the information that they listen. This research used descriptive qualitative research design to investigate the implementation of running dictation media, teacherÂ’s problem and how to cope with the problem in teaching listeningusing running dictation media in the second grade students of SMP N 1 Prigen. The subject in this study was the teacher who taught English running dictation media. The data was collected from interview and observation. The result of this study showed that the teacherÂ’s problems in teaching listening using running dictation media were, pronunciation, grammar, studentÂ’s motivation andthe ways in applying running dictationmedia. To cope with the problem, the teacher were consulting the dictionary, practicing English everyday, sharing with other English teachers, using simple sentences to avoid the mistake, giving motivation and brainstorming to the students and the teacher will give a minus scoredif they were cheat to the others.
