  • Nowadays, English is a foreign language which is taught in every educational level, starting from junior high school up to university. In other words, English becomes very important for Indonesian students. Therefore, to support the needs of students teacher should be able to choose and understand the style of teaching that is used. So that, students are interested in learning the language and then can use it properly This study focused on the four problems that is: (1) the teaching style used by English teacher at SMAN 2 Kota Mojokerto, (2) the implementation of teaching style used by English teacher, (3) the problem faced by English teacher and (4) the solution to solve the problem faced by English teacher. The purposes of the study are: (1) to find kinds of teaching style used by English teacher, (2) to find the implementation of teaching style used by English teacher, (3) to investigate the problem faced by English teacher, (4) to describe the solution for the problem faced by English teacher. This study used qualitative research design because it described the phenomena. The subjects of this research were two English teachers of tenth-grade students in SMAN 2 Kota Mojokerto. The way to collect the data is using observation and interview. The instrument are interview guide and field note observation. The findings showed that, the first teacher used demonstrator model that was included in teacher-centered style and the second teacher used facilitator model that was included in student-centered style. On the implementing that teaching style the first teacher had a problem that was teacher could not understood the studentsÂ’ need. Besides, the teacher tried to solve the problem by doing approach with each students to know their need. On the other side, the second teacher also had problems, namely: studentsÂ’ fluency and the facilities. StudentsÂ’ fluency could be solved by asking students to read and practice more. In terms of laboratory facilities, it could be solved by bringing the speaker and projector into classroom.
