  • This research is aimed to find out the Baper expressions found on INSTAGRAM and the classification of Baper expressions based on emotion. The design of this study was descriptive qualitative because the data of this study were not presented in number but in narration using words. The population and sample also used for collecting the data. The population in this research is all of the posting that exist on the timeline of INSTAGRAM and post by the researcher ‘‘followingÂ’Â’ users. Then, the sample is the expressions or postings that used #baper in posting photos, videos, or captions on the timeline of INSTAGRAM. Furthermore, the technique and instrument used in this research were document analysis and interview. The research showed that there were 26 expressions that used #baper. Those expressions was classified into 2 categories; they were 16 expressions included as negative Baper expressions, 6 expressions included as positive Baper expression, and the balance could not stimulate the interviewees to feel Baper because of some reasons.The examples of those reasons were because the interviewee never experienced the situation that Baper expressions given, wrong word choices, and that is not the intervieweeÂ’s personality. From the result of classifications, it can be concluded that the most dominant kind of Baper expressions posted on INSTAGRAM was negative Baper expressions.
