  • Many students have difficulties in retaining the memory of the text in post listening session. It happened because they easily forgot some new words that have been uttered by the speaker. Visualization strategy is the imagination ability to improve the studentsÂ’ memorization and comprehension by creating mental images in their minds. When the students are hearing or reading text, they are drawing a conclusion based on their imagination. Therefore, the visualization strategy can be one of the ways to solve the problem of the studentsÂ’ memorization. The purpose of the research is to investigate whether an experiment about the visualization strategy effectively improves studentsÂ’ memorization in listening descriptive text for tenth graders at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. This research conducted quantitatively through quasi-experimental research design. Purposive non-probability sampling was to determine the control and experimental groups. The researcher took class X-MIPA 1 consisting of 19 students as a control group and X-MIPA 2 consisting of 18 students as an experimental group. The instrument used to collect the data was test paper. The test was used to know the studentsÂ’ memorization in listening descriptive text before and after they got treatments. There were two kinds of tests: pre-test and post-test. Moreover, to analyze the data, the researcher used independent sample t-test statistical in SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) 21 versions. It means that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Therefore, H1 stated that the post-test result of the experimental group showed that teaching listening in descriptive text by using visualization strategy improved studentsÂ’ memorization. As the result, this stra
