Teaching English for specific purpose needs appropriate methods, because the purpose of learning ESP reading is not only understand the text, but also to make the students more communicative. The objectives of this study are to gain some information about the method used by ESP lecturer in teaching ESP reading, the problem faced by ESP lecturer in applying the method, and the way the ESP lecturer solve the problem. This study used descriptive qualitative research because the researcher intended to describe the methods of teaching ESP reading, the problems in applying the method and the way to solve the problems. The subjects of this research are two ESP lecturers who teach ESP reading at the second semester students of English Department. The data was collected by observation and interview. The result of this study showed that the method used by ESP lecturers were the Direct method, and Communicative Language Teaching. Meanwhile, the problems faced by ESP lecturer were the big number of students, sometimes the time is not enough, and students understanding. Those problems were be solved by managing time, grouping, and using slide show.
