- Applying game in teaching English for young learner students may create very interesting and fun learning activities. However, it can create other problems for teachers. Regarding to this, the researcher was conducting a research toward the problems caused by the application of games in the classroom and also the solutions employed by the teacher to solve the problems. This research used descriptive qualitative research design since it aimed to deeply analyze the problems faced by the English teacher while applying game in teaching young learner students. The instrument of this research were the researcher herself as the first instrumet and interview guideline and observation checklist as the secondary instrument. The object of this research was the English teacher of SDN 3 Dinoyo. The steps of conducting the research were: 1. The researcher conducted observation in the classroom; 2. Intervewed the teacher; and 3. Coding the teacherÂ’s answers and drawing conclusion based on the result of the observation and interview The result of the research showed that there were several problems faced by the teacher while applying game in teaching English which include: 1. noisy students; 2. time management; 3. some students not cocentratimg in the class and; 4. uncapacious classroom. Additionally, there were several solutions employed by the teacher to solve the problems: 1. raising up the voice; 2. giving homework; 3. moving studentsÂ’ seats; and 4. rearranging the seat. Each solution was employed for different kind of problem.
