- The purpose and objective of this study is to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer concentration and composition of growing media on growth of plants beginning Surian (T. sureni (Blume) Merr). This research was conducted in upland seedbed UMM (experimental plantation forestry nursery laboratory) Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, who teletak at an altitude of 530 m above sea level and the average rainfall is 1388 mm / year. This research was conducted in December 2009 until February 2010. The tools used in this study is stationery, calculators, a hoe, a camera, ruler, analytical scales, shove, measuring cups and oven. The materials used were seedlings Toona sureni (Blume) Merr), soil, sand, manure, organic manure melt (BENsubur)andpolybags. This research was conducted using a randomized block design (RAK) factorial, consisting of two factors with three replications. The first factor is the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (P), consists of four levels, namely: P0 (0 cc / liter as a control), P1 (5 cc / ltr), P2 (10 cc / ltr) and P3 (15 cc / ltr ). The second factor is the growing media composition (Q), consists of three levels, namely: Q1 (1: 1: 2 (soil: sand: manure), Q2 (1: 2: 1 (soil: sand: manure)andQ3(2:1:1(soil:sand:manure). Those parameters include the addition of observations of high seedling, dimeter stem, leaf number, root length, wet weight and dry weight. From the results showed that treatment 2:1:1 (P3Q3) concentration gave the best results for high growth, stem diameter, root length, fresh weight and seedling dry weightsuren.
