- Keyword : Word Clap Game, Vocabulary Mastery The aim of this research is to investigate whether or not the use of “word clap’ game improves the vocabulary mastery of the seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau in learning vocabulary. The writer tried to presents Words Clap game as the method to teach vocabulary. Word clap game is a game that uses claps and collaboration with other students. This research used a Quasi-experimental research design to know whether or not the Words Clap game could improve the students’ vocabulary mastery. In the experimental research, the classroom was divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group was given a treatment with Word Clap game while the control groups was taught by using method based on the teacher. The data of this research were analyzed using T-test computation. The result of T-test computation found that the t-ratio was 2.679 with the level of significance of 0.10, the degree of freedom of 56, and the table value was 2.00. The data showed that the value of t-ratio was greater than that of t-table. Hence, Ho (Null hypothesis was rejected and H1 (Alternative hypothesis) was accepted. It means that Word Clap game improved students’ vocabulary mastery.
