- Keyword : Quality, Curriculum 2013, English Textbook This research is concerned with the perception of English teachers about the quality of English textbook based on 2013 curriculum used by the first grade students at SMAN 1 Baureno-Bojonegoro. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to investigate and describe English teachersÂ’ perception about the quality of English textbook based on 2013 curriculum used by the first grade students at SMAN 1 Baureno-Bojonegoro This research used descriptive qualitative research as its design. It was used by the researcher to comprehend and describe English teachersÂ’ perception about the quality of English textbook based on 2013 curriculum used by the first grade students at SMAN 1 Baureno-Bojonegoro. Moreover, the subject of this research were English teachers who teach the first grade students at that school. In collecting the data, the researcher used himself as the primary research instrument and a semi-structured interview as the secondary research instrument. Additionally, the result of this research was written in the form of narrative description. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher concluded that English teachers who teach the first grade students at SMAN 1 Baureno-Bojonegoro gave a positive perception about the quality of English textbook based on 2013 curriculum used by the first grade students at that school based on four components of textbook evaluation namely (1) content, (2) language, (3) presentation and (4) graphic. In content aspect, the English teachers perceived that the content in the textbook fit into the core and the basic competences of curriculum 2013. It also fit into the studentsÂ’ level and the material being discussed. Besides, the learning materials in the textbook were valid, the content in every material enriched and enhanced the studentsÂ’ knowledge, and the provided materials contained moral and social value. In language aspect, they perceived that the readability of the textbook was good, the language used to express the information was also clear and the textbook used the correct grammatical and effective language. However, in presentation aspect, they stated that the textbook did not clarify its learning objectives achievementÂ’ indicators. Meanwhile, the chapters were already constructed systematically based on the syllabus and table of contents. Moreover, the textbook provided materials that contained motivation and interaction, and the information in it was already up-to-date. In graphic aspect, they said that the textbook used the correct font size and style, the layout was simple but good and the illustrations in the textbook fit into the concepts and the theories. Finally, the cover design of the textbook followed the standardization of cover design of a textbook.
