- Education is a crucial thing for someone s success. In the children s character formation, personality and their achievement, parents role cannot be ignored, because the parents are the closest and the most who provide education/knowledge to the children, therefore, parents role in family functioning is noteworthy because if parents little neglect their duties and responsibilities within the family, it will adversely affect a children s success both now and future. This study aims to determine the role of achieved children s parents in family functioning. Type of research is a qualitative descriptive, which attempt to describe the phenomena or the facts that look as such. The research subjects are three pairs of achieved children s parents. Research location is in Malang, East Java. Data collection technique, used is interview, documentation aided by observation as a supplement. Furthermore, the validity of the data are done by triangulation of sources Broadly, the results of research describe that the three pairs of subjects have large role in the success of their children. They truly care about the quality of school children, appreciate children s life, monitor children s activities, pray for children and communicate between husband and wife regarding children's education problems is something that must be considered by parents. Besides, the existence of motivation, dreams, and the efforts to learn from the children themselves are also the key of children achievement.
