  • Teaching English for young learners is not as simple as teaching English to adults because for young learners learning English will be more impressed by experiencing it with their own real life. In teaching English for young learners, the teacher must think to create enjoyable atmosphere in teaching learning process. Therefore, the teacher must be creative to think about how to be smart teacher, have good lesson plan, good matterials and also proper teaching media. In this research, the researcher chooses the teaching media to support the teaching learning process. The using of teaching media is the great importance to deliver the knowledge, because young learners like studying with fun. The objectives of this study were to know the teaching media used by the teacher in teaching English at EYL class at English First course in Malang, to describe the problems faced by the EYL teacher at English First course in using media and to describe how the teachers at English First course solve the problems. The design of this study was descriptive qualitative research by taking two English teachers who were teaching English for Young Learner class. They were a local teacher and native English speaker. In collecting the data, the researcher used two kinds of instruments: interview and observation. The finding showed that the teachers used visual and audio-visual media in teaching English at EYL class at English First course in Malang. Visual media used were picture, game and whiteboard. Audio-visual media were video and computer. The teachers did not get any problems in using teaching media because they could handle the situation when the difficulty appeared suddenly.
