- Studentsâ€TM achievement is influenced by the factors such as family background, school and society. There were some statements from the experts that family is the place where students are educated primarily. This study wants to know how far the parentsâ€TM background influence the English achievement. In this case, parentsâ€TM background consisted of parentsâ€TM education level, parentsâ€TM job, and parentsâ€TM social economic status. This study used quantitative research. The researcher also applied correlational design. Based on the title, researcher formulated hypothesis that (1) There was any influence between parentsâ€TM education level and the studentsâ€TM English achievement, (2) There was any influence between parentsâ€TM job and the studentsâ€TM English achievement, and (3) There was any influence between parentsâ€TM social-economic status and the studentsâ€TM English achievement. The population of this study was the third year students of SMAN 2 Probolinggo consisted of 5 classes and also their parents. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The researcher used lottery to gather the data. This study used questionnaire to get the data of parentsâ€TM background and written test to get the data of studentsâ€TM English achievement. The analysis of data was based on Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The result of this study showed that (1) there was positive correlation between parentsâ€TM education and the studentsâ€TM English achievement. It showed by the coefficient of Product Moment Correlation (r) of parentsâ€TM education is .462; (2) there was positive correlation between parentsâ€TM job and the studentsâ€TM English achievement since coefficient of Product Moment Correlation (r) is .260, and (3) there was a positive correlation between parentsâ€TM social economic status and studentsâ€TM English achievement. The result of the calculation between parentsâ€TM social economic status and studentsâ€TM English achievement showed that coefficient of Product Moment Correlation (r) is .587
