- Language is one of important things for communication. People can communicate each other with language because language has strong influence in the society's relationship. We always communicate with others because having communication makes us able to express our ideas. When people speak usually they switch from one language to another in the conversation. Therefore this research was focused on one of code switching used in Cinta Laura's songs. This study aimed to analyze code switching used in Cinta Laura's songs. It answered the following research problems: 1) What types of code switchings are found in Cinta Laura's songs? 2) What is the most dominant code switching employed in Cinta Laura's songs? This study used a descriptive qualitative design to know the kinds of code switching, and the most dominant code switching used in Cinta Laura's songs. Here, the writer used object of the study because she did not want to generalize the results of the research used in other songs or the other entertainment programs. After analyzing the data, the writer found that there were 32 code switchings and three kinds of code switching used in Cinta Laura's songs. There were 15 Intra-sentential code-switching, the switch occured within a sentence found in Cinta Laura's songs. There were 11 Inter-sentential code-switching, the switch used in Cinta Laura's songs occured between sentences. The last, there were 6 Emblematic switching, the switch that occured with involving the tags or exclamation serving as an emblem of the bilingual character. And the most dominant code-switching was Intra-sentential code-switching because it was most frequently used in Cinta Laura's songs.
