- Literature is human expression. In other words, literary work such us drama or play, short story, novel and poem expose human life. Poeple usually have many ways of expressing their feeling, imagination, creation, and communication. The researcher chose Stephenie Mayer novel "Twilight" as the topic of this thesis. This novel was catagorized as an mysterious and unique novel that tells about a realationship of human and vampire. This study focused on the Edwardsâ€TM communication with the society and what the effects of the Edwards family communication to the society as a vampire are. This study used descriptive qualitative because the researcher just described the object being investigated such as action, and also condition and situation. Morover, in doing this research the researcher used the objective approach: in this case, the researcher did not need to study about the authorâ€TMs life, background of the work but attempt to analyzed the work itself and considered "Twilight" novel as the object of this study. The result of the study showed that communication strategies used by Edwardâ€TMs family with society were: speaking through eyes, voice level, audience awareness, facial expression, posture, and dress sense.The effects communication strategy were: Edwards had limited contact with society and Edwardsâ€TM as a new comer they became outside.
