- Balikpapan is a city at East Kalimantan Province which its economic based on industry sector. Various economic development potential in Balikpapan has growth rapidly along the development of the city. Efforts to strengthen and extend economic development not only needed support in its entrepreneurship area, but also preparing the right information about investment project also prospective development in the near future. It is arranged to give information about the existence investment, also giving comparison information for investors who eager to enter the market, also as reference for entrepreneurs to develop their business in Balikpapan. It could be reached by the obligation in company registration which arranged official statement from every business as stated in Company Registration Rule The research have statements of problems: how the process of limited company founding process until it got legal status; how the registration in company list obligation for limited company, whether having legal status or not. The research aimed to find out the process of limited company registration from the beginning until it got legal status and the application of company list obligation for limited company whether having legal status or not. The research used socio-juridical approach, with explanation according the result in field which based on the rule to analyze existing statement of problems. Data collection method were interview to the related parties about limited company founding and limited company registration which was done at Yenni Wuryandari, SH Notary Public Office and Regional Registration and Investment Department. The research resulted that before the limited company doing registration process in Regional Registration and Investment Department, so the Limited company should get legal institution status by making founding act in Notary Public Office according the decision of Trading and Industry Department to Limited Company which still had no legal status institution in registration, they should pass monitoring phase from Law and Human Rights Ministry Institution. From the research, there could be concluded that to make registration list, a limited company should have legal institution status by making founding act in Notary Public Office and limited company obligated to do company registration. According to the fact, the writer suggest the Limited Company which would do registration should get legal institution status to make registration easier.
