- Nowadays, having the ability to speak more than one language is a common thing. However, it naturally happens because of science and technology development demands. One of the facts that we commonly mix their spoken languages when they converse in their society. This study aimed at analyzing code mixing used by the presenter of Ala Chef Program on TRANS Television. The objectives of this study are (1) to know the code mixing used in Ala Chef Program, (2) to describe the kinds of code mixing used in Ala Chef Program. This study is descriptive qualitative, because the result of study was to describe the code mixing which used by the presenter of Ala Chef Program on TRANS Television, and there was no statistical data. The writer gathered the data from Ala Chef Program. This study used non-participant observation as the research instrument because the writer did not participate in the activity and the writer used mobile phone as the tool to collect the data. After analyzing the data, the writer found that there were some types of code mixing used by the presenter of Ala Chef Program on TRANS Television. They are 145 single elements, 86 partial or entire phrases. The writer also found 2 shapes of code mixing influencing the use of code mixing in that program; they were 13 pragmatics and 1 syntactic.
