  • In educational system, English is one of subjects that is learned by students. In fact, teacher must use good English teaching method in teaching-learning process. Teaching method is the most important thing in teaching. Methods serve as an infinite for reflection that can help teacher to become aware of taught that guide their action in teaching English. By using some of teaching methods, teacher will deliver the subject easily, help students to enjoy and understand it. This study focuses on the influence of English teaching methods toward studentsÂ’ behavior in “Freedom Writer” movie. The goals of this study are to mention the influences of teaching methods toward the studentsÂ’ behavior in “Freedom Writer” movie, describe the implementation of the teaching method done by teacher to teach the students “Freedom Writer” movie, and to identify the changing of students’ behaviors which are influenced by teacher’s teaching method in “Freedom Writer” movie. This study used descriptive qualitative as research design because the writer described and interpreted the phenomena that existed in “Freedom Writer” movie, regarding to the influence of English teaching method toward students’ behavior. The instrument used by the writer was document in the form of movie’s script and scene. The result of data analysis showed that there were three teaching methods used by Miss G. Those were informal daily writing method, tell and transform method, and direct method. In implementing informal dairy writing method, the teacher chose writing diary activity, in which the students wrote their own stories in a journal and submitted in a cabinet after they finished their writing. This method made them stop talking each other when the teacher was delivering the subject, they also read the book given by the teacher. Furthermore, direct method done by teacher gave them more spirit to study, avoid the violence, and ignore their diversity problems. The teacher invited students to some trips, such as having dinner in a restaurant with the Holocaust Survivor after they went to Museum of Tolerance as direct method in teaching-learning activity. The teacher also asked every student to make a letter to Miep Gies as tell and transform method. They wrote their feeling and experiences after they read “Diary of Anne Frank” book. Those letters were posted to Miep Gies (witness the history of Anne Frank). In fact, the students became more creative as their behavior changing.
