- Background : The impact of drug abuse can potentially lead to the undermining of psychological mental apathy, euphoria, emotional instability, depression. Depression is a mental disorder with symptoms that indicated by the manifestation of emotional, cognitive, motivational and physical manifestations. Clients with depression will feel depressed, have a low perception of him, feeling worthless, loss of concentration, can not make decisions, lazy activity, even wanted to end his life. It occurs in patients of drug abuse in the psychiatric hospital. Dr.Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang. By Art Therapy can slowly change the contents minds and thought processes so that clients can improve vitality and decreased levels of depression. The experiment was conducted to determine differences in rates of depression drug abuse patients before and after the intervention of Art Therapy. Method: This research used to design Quasy Experimental Pre-Test Post-Test Control Group Design. The sample in the study were patients of drug abuse in the psychiatric hospital drug. Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang, amounting to 8 patients. Data collection techniques in accordance with observation and interview sheet Depression Level NOC. Analysis of the test data using paired samples t-test. Result ; After the post-test in the intervention group gained 2 patients (50%) that decreased levels of depression (mild) and 2 patients (50%) with a fixed rate of depression (moderate). After using a computerized test results paired samples t-test in the intervention group that significant value is smaller than alpha 5% (0.000 <0.050), then the hypothesis H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Whereas the control group gained significance value greater than 5% alpha value (0.116> 0.050), then the hypothesis H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. Which means that there are differences in the level of depression drug abuse patients before and after the intervention of Art Therapy Conclusion: There are different levels of depression drug abuse patients before and after the intervention Art Therapy Keywords: Drug Abuse, Depression Levels, Art Therapy
