- Background: Anger is a normal human emotion, yet each individualÂ’s way of expressing anger may not be normal, everyone who is not angry at risk for violent behaviour and when a person is unable to control their anger or express anger cause someone to do violent behaviour either to himself or to anyone around him. By using music therapy, it can improve, restore and maintain the health of your physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual. The research was carried out to determine the effectiveness of music therapy on the ability to control the angry patients as the risk of violent behaviour. Methods: This study uses a pure experimental design with pre test-post test control group design. The samples in the study is patients as the of violent behaviour in Camar Room RSJ. Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang totaling 12 patients. The collection data techniques in accordance with observation and interview which are appropriate the sheet of aggression control NOC. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test. Results: After a posttest obtained two patients (33%) with the ability to anger control is mild, two patient (33%) with the ability to anger control is medium, two patient (33%) with the ability to anger control is low. Wilcoxon test calculation result in the control group p = 0,102. The wilcoxon test obtained probability values on the groupÂ’s treatment of significant value which means there are differences in the ability to anger control before and after the awarding of music therapy. Conclusion: The gift of music therapy is effective against the ability to control the angry patients as the risk of violent behaviour.
