  • Reality of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia do not always work in harmony. Two allied and neighboring countries are often faced with prolonged bilateral conflict. The conflict is mainly in the form of border conflicts. Since both are free to date, have not found a bilateral conflict resolution. As a result, not one which is not possible if the two countries are faced with the potential of bilateral conflict. The fact is supported by the military power of Indonesia and Malaysia. For the realists, every country in the world can be confronted with a potential conflict with other countries. The reality can be analyzed by using the three conceptual and theoretical foundation, namely: international anarchy (international anarchy), security dilemma, and border conflicts (border conflict). Through the third, the potential for conflict in international relations is rational and is a reality that can not be denied. Discussion of the potential conflict with the theory based on the three above can be translated into three aspects, namely: historical aspects, contextual aspects, and aspects of the material. Historical aspect refers to the reality of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia in history. Contextual aspects related to the behavior of the state in an effort to develop its military power. While focusing on the material aspects of the military posture that has been owned by the two countries to support for the occurrence of a potential conflict.
