- This research aimed at studying the effect of active knowledge sharing strategy on eight grade students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph. This study tried to find out alternative strategy for teacher to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph. This research was based on the fact that the results of English ability especially in writing which was still low. This case probably caused by conventional system of teaching. Active knowledge sharing is strategy for studying consisting; Question, Preview, and Work. The researcher conducted an experiment to test this research, to find out whether or not active knowledge sharing strategy really has a positive impact on students ability. This strategy was applied by the teacher to the students. This study used quantitative research. The researcher applied experimental design to both control and experiment group to gather the data based on the proportion, the researcher formulated a hypothesis that there was significant influence of active knowledge sharing strategy on students’ ability in English subject. in this case was writing ability. The population in this study was the second year students of SMP AisyiÂ’yah 03 Malang consisting of two classes. The researcher took two classes from eight grade. The instrument applied in this research was writing descriptive test. Which was different from booth the control and experiment group. Significance effect using of active knowledge sharing strategy, ability in writing descriptive paragraph which in hypothesis testing level of significance α = 0,05 This shows that active knowledge sharing strategy and significantly effect on students ability, especially for writing ability.
