  • To develop other Salicylamide derivative that have higher analgesic activity, the performed modification structure of salicylamide to produce a new compound. The new compound is p-nitrobenzoyl salicylamide. Modifications made through acylation reaction use Schotten-Baumann method. Weight percentage obtained modification is 0,58 %. Then the modified compound is analyzed purified with melting point test and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). A melting point test is obtained melting point 132-133°C, and at Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) is obtained single spot point. This suggest that modified compound is pure componds. Then modified compound structures identified by ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer, infrared spectrophotometer, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. Based on these results, it can be concluded that modification compounds is compounds are expected. The compound is p-nitrobenzoyl salicylamide.
