- This research aimed to analyze of the debate teaching method by the English teacher at SMKN 1 Kepanjen. It describes the system of debate, rules of debate and the method used by the English teacher that finally he was able to create good debaters. This research was conducted by using qualitative research. The researcher got the data as the result of this research was obtained from the interview with the English teacher in the form of written data. The researcher found that the system of debate used by the English teacher was Australasia parliamentary debate system. It is an English debate system that is used in English competition debate annually for students of vocational school either regionally or nationally. The debate teaching methods used by the English teacher to apply Australasia parliamentary system to his students are: explanation, translation, discussion, demonstration, sparring partner, evaluation and discipline. By these methods, the English teacher could make the students become the winners in some debate competitions and this proved that he was a successful English teacher.
