- Literature is human’s expression. Literature gives information concerning human experience which consists of the realities of human problem, feeling, situation, and relationship. By watching or reading literature, people can obtain enjoyment and valuable information related to our life. Film is human’s expression that reflects the human thought, act, behavior, lifestyle, and anything related to human kind. This study was conducted to analyze Khaterine Watson’s feminism awareness as a teacher in Mona Lisa Smile film. The analysis focused on what kind of feminism awareness, the way she did feminism awareness, and the impacts feminism awareness on people around her. This study used descriptive qualitative design, the object of this study was Mona Lisa Smile film while the data were derived from dialogues and scenes of film. The writer used feminism critism approach; it is a type of literary criticism, which wants to justice in considering woman existence. Based on the result of data analysis, it showed that: 1) The kind of feminism awareness done by Khaterine Watson was Liberal feminism. It can be seen by her progressive thought and also her subversive movement toward her student. 2) The way how Khaterine Watson did feminism awareness, by teaching the students in different methods: the first, she taught the students with question-answer and discussion method to stimulate students. The second, she gave the student encouragement to apply on Yale University. She gave Joan Brandwyn form to apply on Law School on Yale University. The third, she showed some pictures that represented the life of Wellesley students was very conservative. They had perfect life, graduated with great score and did everything that has been traineed and get married. Khaterine watson tried to explain the real life of being good wife is not as simple as Wellesley College traineed. There was a big chance to be a good wife and also to be a good woman. 3) There are two impacts of Khaterine Watson’s feminism awareness on the people around her. The positive impact was the student became brave to decide something. The negative impact was the students became liberals.
