- Film is a series of moving images presented audio visually and provides certain effects in it. The Film is a miniature of a life whether they have occurred or expected to happen in the future. However, it gives an overview to audience about life that can give a beneficial lesson, messages, and information to the people and life. It is one of the reasons why the film is selected interestingly to analyze in this thesis. There are three statements of problems in this study. Those are: (1) why did Grenouille kill 25 young girls in that filmÂ’s story? (2) How did Grenouille do his actions without being known by others? (3) What are the effects of GrenouillesÂ’s action to the people around him? This study is conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. Besides, the object of study is film “Perfume” and research data were derived from dialogues and events of story. The writer uses objective approach, it focuses on the content of literary work or including the whole story and element of film. The result of analysis presents that there are some reasons of murder done by Grenouille toward 25 young girls. They are: first reason is environment and social factor, and the second is victimsÂ’role factor. Grenouille did his action without being known by others. The ways are: Grenouille as often as appear in the darkness of night and deserted place. Besides, he took advantage of the situation and condition when the people and the local government were busy in debating the murder. GrenouilleÂ’s action gives impacts to the people around him, those are: First, for security and protection of its citizens, the government imposed a curfew. Next, local police arrested suspected persons though without strong evidence. The last, Mr. Richis took his beautiful daughter, Laura to Iles de L ̈rins for her safety.
