  • Facebook Group Application is one of the usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which is applied as media in teaching writing. Practically, it was used to create an active environment and collaborative learning through the activity of peer feedback by using Group Application in Facebook. Previously, the students was asked to make an argumentative essay and was published in Facebook Group they had made. Further, they conducted proof reading activity and gave some feedbacks such as commends, correction and suggestions toward their friendÂ’essay which had publised in Facebook Group. The aim of this activity was to help the students to conduct revising steps in order to create an effective learning by doing and better essay product. Therefore, the researcher wants to find whether using Facebook Group can enhance studentsÂ’ skill on essay writing at the fifth semester English Department University of Muhammadyah Malang or not. This research used quasi experimental research design. The population was the fifth semester of English Department students at University of Muhammadyah Malang, with the samples of Class D as the experiment group and Class C as the control group. In this reseach, the experiment group was given treatment by using Facebook Group in writing activity, then the control group was taught by conventional way. The data were obtained from the pre and post test and were analyzed using t-tes. The result of t – test computation showed that that t = 4.014 > t table = 1, 69092 with Sig (p) = 0.000 < 0.05, it means that there was significance difference between experimental group and control group. Moreover, the gain score showed that the means score of the experimental group was higher than the control group (experimental group was 14.9412 > control group was 7.3158). It means that using Facebook Group can enhance studentsÂ’ essay writing skill.
