  • This study is concerned with the activity in the classroom. Teaching and learning process cannot be run well if the teacher does not have the ability to control the class and to teach the students. On the other hand, teacher should consider about the factors that can influence on studentsÂ’ achievement, such as internal factor and external factor. Both factors are much correlated for students to master a subject, but sometimes one of the factors become the dominant one. So that, teachers should master on teachersÂ’ competences that are not only giving concepts, information, but also how they should be good in social competence that can create a good atmosphere in class. This study is aimed at investigating the correlation between English teaching atmosphere and studentsÂ’ English achievement of the eleventh grade students at man Malang 1. It is intended to know whether there is or not correlation between English teaching atmosphere and studentsÂ’ English achievement. In this study the researcher uses correlational design, and the data are collected in the form of number. This study was conducted at MAN Malang I. The population of this study was the eleventh grade, and the sample of this study was sixty one students. There were two variable that would be investigated, namely: English teaching atmosphere and studentsÂ’ English achievement. In collecting the data the researcher used an observation, questionnaire, and test. Then, the data were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment correlation formula. The result of this study showed that there was positive correlation between English teaching atmosphere and studentsÂ’ English achievement. The result was supported by the result of the computation of comparison between r-value and r-table. the result of r-value was 0.339. Next, the result of r-value should be compared with r-table. It could be seen that rt 5% was 0, 254 and r 1% was 0, 330. If the r –value from the formula above to the critical r-value on the level of significant 0.5, the Null Hypothesis was rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis was accepted. It meant that r-value washigher than r-table. It could be concluded that English teaching atmosphere and studentsÂ’ English achievement had positive correlation each other. So that, teacher and school principle should create a good atmosphere in their environment.
