  • Jargon is within domain of sociolinguistics. Jargon is an occupational and secret language, so it occurs in the occupational fields and only the people who work in the same field can understand it. The researcher has found that it exists in Online Games Chat. The research aims to discover the jargon words are used in Online Games Chat, and then analyze the jargon words with semantically to deal with the denotation and connotation meanings, and morphologically to find out its word formation process. So, the research is conducted within the domain of sociolinguistics, semantics, and morphology. Meanwhile, the purposes of this research are 1) to know the jargon words in online games formed; 2) to know the meanings of the jargon in the online games. Therefore, the researcher will discuss deeply about the jargon words in online games. Under these purposes, this research used descriptive qualitative will intend to give information concerning the jargon words in online games. The data were collected by searching the jargon words on online games chat, and then the researcher validated the data with the players of online game. In this case the data were validated with the players from Ant Wars, MMORPG, PB. The researcher discovered 67 jargon words. The researcher found out that there are 19 jargon words (28%) with negative connotation meaning, 25 jargon words (38%) with positive connotation meaning, and 23 jargon words (34%) with neural connotation meaning. For word formation process, there are 26 jargon words (39%) with one process, then 41 jargon words with multiple process (61%).
