- Stroke is a neurological function disorders caused by disturbance of blood flow to the brain which can occur suddenly or rapidly with the right symptoms in the disturbed areas.The role ofthe familyis a series ofexpected behaviorintended tocreate, maintainandimprove theculture ofphysical developmentofeach family member.The purpose of the case study to get the meaning of the role of the family within an effort to minimize the stroke attack. Research design areusing qualitative approach with strategy research of case study research who are using purposive sampling technique sampling. Participants were taken three respondents, in July 2015. The research data was taken using the method of interview, observation and documentation. The validity test of the data use triangulation and data analysedby using the method of analysis domain. Based on the results, the researcher concluded that the family have a major role to minimize the stroke attack. The researchÂ’s result showing there are six of familyÂ’s experienceto minimize the stroke attack at home, that are: the family are understand about the patient's illness, the efforts of the family looking for the treatment, the role of the family controlling the disease, the role of the family in teaching or assisting patientÂ’s activities, the role of the family in adjusting the diet, the familyÂ’s treatment to patients.
