- Background : School refusal behavior is a deviant behavior that was done by the students and be a very stressful experience for teens first time doing this, otherwise it becomes familiar and can be addictive for adolescents who have a level of frequency do. factor in the school refusal is affected by social interaction skills. The low social interaction skills in young adolescents make choosing deviant behavior as a coping strategy to tackle social problems. School refusal behavior if not treated immediately it will have a negative impact on academic life, Personal (psychological), and socially. Therefore, to prevent and tackle the problem of school refusal of one of them with the ability to interact socially which can suppress the occurrence of school refusal behavior becomes high, the way a good relationship with others. This study aimed to determine the relationship between social interaction capability against school refusal behavior. Research Methods : The research design used in this study is descriptive correlational research and the type cross sectional research conducted, where as the independent variable is a ability of social interaction, while the dependent variable is school refusal behavior. This research was conducted on April 2015 at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The subjects of research is the teenage students grades of 2008, 2009, 2010 that have behaviors school refusal and are still active lecture(n=37 ) taken with purposive sampling method. Data analysis was performed using SPSS computerized system with Pearson Product Moment correlation test. Results : Based on the results of the analysis of Pearson Product Moment correlation test with obtained values of probability (Sigs.) < 0.05 is 0.001 and r count (-0.529) > r table (0.325), so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 accepted. Judging from the level of interpretation do is (-0.529) the relationship between the two variables are at the level of relationship. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the ability of social interaction with school refusal behavior. Conclusion : There is a relationship between the ability of social interaction with school refusal behavior in students at University of Muhammadiyah Malang .
