- The improvement of tobacco dryer machine is essential since tobacco is one of promising crops which has been produced until now. This study was conducted to design a tobacco dryer machine with capacity of 100kg/process. Tobacco water content will be reduced from 85% to 10% by the drying process which is more efficient by using tobacco dryer machine than conventional drying process which took 3-4 days with 27oC temperature in average. The result of the design showed that the diameter of tube dryer dimension is 0,61 m, 2 m length, and 1,5 m height. The required time of drying process is two hours with the amount of 4 pulleys in different diameters; diameter of pulley 1 (D1) = 50 mm, D2 = 200 mm, D3= 50 mm, D4=235 ≈250 mm which resulted in 50 rpm of stirrer with 940 rpm rotation motor by 2,5 hp power of the motor.
