- The purpose of this study is to determine: 1) the performance, capabilities and motivation 2) the influence of ability and work motivation on employee performance and 3) variable that has dominant influence on the performance of employees in the Department of Hygiene and Malang. The population in this study are employees of the Department of Hygiene and Malang especially office part as many as 209 employees with a total sample of 52 employees. Based on the analysis results can be seen in the category of performance conditions is low enough, the ability to have a good category and employee motivation high. There is the influence of ability and work motivation on employee performance. Motivation variable has dominant influence on employee performance. The suggestion in the study of instansu should strive to make improvements in the ability of employees to work quickly in the process of completion of the work, should be able to provide assurances that employees are able to identify problems in the event of problems in the process of completion of the work and keep working conditions are diinstansi,
